How do you know they would've bought the movie anyway?

In my experience of late I would say that certainly for myself If I really want to see a movie because I'm actually interested in it or because my friends have recommended it I want to see it in high quality on a big screen so I either go see it in the cinemas or buy the DVD because I know the movie is so good I will enjoy watching it more than once (as I did with batman begins, which I watched both in the cinema and later bought the dvd). But sometimes come along movies that don't have great reviews, or you may not really think its worth paying ?8 to see in the cinema or ?22 to get on a DVD you probably won't take out more than once, so If you are particularly bored on a Saturday afternoon and there is nothing on TV you might just download a movie that sounded a little interesting but not ?20 interesting, you get me? The only other way I would have watched such movies anyway is perhaps on TV in a year or two, for free anyways, so exactly how am I hurting the movie industry?
Is it perhaps that they lose money from making crap movies that people dont think is worth the vastly inflated prices for movie tickets or dvds, but no of course in the western world you cannot accuse people of profiteering, no, they lose money because so called pirates are getting their movies for free.
Here is a proposition to hollywood, make films cheaper, how about ?8 for a dvd, or ?3 for a movie ticket? Then I wouldn't have to think too much about spending my money and i could watch a lot more ****** movies and you get my money, think about that for a while.
