Criminals are out for a buck
They rarely have altruistic intentions. That theory almost falls into the conspiracy realm of black helipcoters and tinfoil hats.

Hackers aren't like hollywood makes them out to be. They are thier to make a buck in any illegal manner. That's what the term hacker has turned into today. It's not the hacker of the 80s who tinkered.
