My parents always say you'd understand if you had children. I really don't understand the difficulty in unplugging a box for a few hours a day and sitting down and having a conversation with a child. My unfortunate conclusion has been that becoming a parent tends to render humans stupid and this situation is only relieved when they become grandparents. There are exceptions to be sure, but when you work with as many parents as I do you find yourself wondering how anyone ever makes it to adulthood. It wasn't politicians and regulatory commissions that made the Bronze Age so successful for humanity.
