What happened to good old
communication with your kids? I talk to mine. I spend time with them. Granted you can only do SO much but there has to be a middle ground somewhere. I am all for stricter regulations and things like that but this goes too far. How long was the GTA game out before this 'controversy' came out? I mean come on! Is it just me or does anyone else notice that we are in an election year or getting close to one? I support my government whenever possible. (some may disagree with that one of course) But I get tired of politicians and their agendas sometimes. It seems that these 'issues' only come to the front of the line when it will make them look good in the public eye.

They could try making it illegal to order these 'mature games' online. That would negate the age issue there. And how about making them present an id that could verify age? Most of the teenage population has an id or a license by the age of 17 so that would take care of that. If you have to present an id to buy alcohol and cigarettes this should be fairly easy to implement. And then make sure that the retailers do it. Actually the GameStop in my town already does it. I found this out when I went to buy one of these 'mature' rated games. I didn't have my license on me so they wouldn't sell it to me. (For those who are obviously curious it was Outlaw Volleyball) They took it upon themselves to do that and I can respect it.

Another point: these games are only popular and they pretty much only create them because people buy them. I would almost be willing to guarantee that if there wasn't such a high demand for them they would be less likely to make them. It goes towards the whole supply and demand theory.
