Hmmm, greed or is it legitimate profit protection
The phone companies are in a tough competitive position. When you have companies like Vonage that are using the phone company's infrastructure to compete with the phone company. I do find it interesting that from the phone company's point of view they've built the backbone and now it's own equipment which it built and maintains is being used to compete with them. There is something definitely wrong with that senario and forcing set pricing on them doesn't seem like a reasonable answer to me.
