Remember: eBay, Paypal, tried steal users accounts
I can't understand how a great company as Yahoo can chose and take all the paths they can to slowly yet surely lose their reputation - hence, sooner than they think, all their faithful users. The last of those dramatic errors is the worse: (sort of ) merging with eBay. I think Yahoo is completely forgetting what they once did so well: how they can earn money (if not, they would be richer than Microsoft by now), which implies, how to gain and maintain confidence from users.

Yahoo built an instant world wide success in 1994 by bringing to END USERS what they wanted: INFORMATION, which mean fast, accurate, raw and unclutterred, information - remember, this includes ACCURATE, i.e. TRUE - if not, it wouldn't be INFORMATION.

Remember how Paypal tried to make accounts unretrievable from their owners. In a civilized country, someone who did that just once in his life is forbidden for ever to enter any job resembling nearly or remotely to bank handling. If US, France, etc., were still civilized, you would never see again the Paypal company, or any of the people having worked in it (even secretaries), handling any payment "service" on the net.

eBay was not significantly better - a reason why it was not surprising when eBay and Paypal became "pals" of each other.

But Yahoo coming to such people... this is a sad catastrophe.
