you are waking up...
...it has been that way since about 1830's when the US Supreme Court ruled that a corporation is a "person" with all the same rights as a genuine human being. Since that time corporate money began to choose who, we the citizens, get to vote for. It is the corporations that determine who we can vote for in the general elections...their chosen ones get the most campaign money...and they fund all sides of the political spectrum to ensure that they get their manchurian candidate elected. Once elected, the politian knows who really got them into office and can keep them there...the corporations.

The US needs a Consistutional ammendment that forbids non-humans from making political campaign contributions, and put similar restrictions on political lobbying as the IRS now does on religious institutions (a preacher cannot lobby from the pulpit). Only then will the real voice of the people be heard.
