the morons don't get it
One thing that MySpace so popular is it is not primarily used as a sales opportunity by this or that business. Sure some goes on, and that's always going to happen. A little is annoying but that's it.
But if/when MySpace "embraces the business oppty" and turns MySpace into an open sales field, people will stop using it. Especially when it becomes clear to any real person using it, that the majority of people who want to be their friends are just salespeople trying to sell them something.
This type of selling is what gives sales such a bad reputation with everyday people.
Good sales doesn't rely on sneaking under the radar and obtaining someone's trust in order to get them to buy something.
