Useless or useful?

This 3D social stuff is cool and all - but is it really useful for anything other than entertainment?

Honestly, I don't think it's useful or wise to spend a great deal of time in something like Second Life. It's cool, I'm sure, and I'm sure a lot of young people would like it. But - eventually, one has to realize there's more to life than games. And that's exactly what something like this is - a game. It exists pretty much only for entertainment.
