Expectation...
Well you deserve a cookie for trying! The problem exists that you lack evidence or logic you can assert. I'll repeat the response I made above. Here is the logic:

1) If Google is pulling "dirty tricks" (as you first said), then your assertion is incorrect because competition is not preventing the behaviour.

2) If Google is not pulling "dirty tricks" (as you now opine), then your assertion has no precedent; competition cannot prevent what does not and has not occured.

3) What you need is an example where Google pulled a "dirty trick" and the competitor (Microsoft) opted not to follow them, and thereby made Google retrace their steps and back away from the trick they played.

Your answer falls squarely into 2. Since this article presents what many would consider a "dirty trick" and Anton presented one yesterday; your assertion would seem to be false. The dirty tricks, if indeed one considers them to be such, are being taken and competition with Microsoft is not stopping them. If anything; competition is accelerating the occurence.

Try the third argument. It would be dispositive.

But yes, I shall stop asking you when you present dispositive evidence and answer the question. Not that I plan on being dogged about it.
