"giverment"?

I don't know if that was a typo, but I like it: "giverment n. A method of governance wherein politicians buy their elections by giving their constituents things paid for by their own or other peoples' taxes."

Ad rem, as the father of three nine-year-olds (my wife was feeling very efficient that year...) one of the things I've discovered by experience is that the quickest way to develop an overwhelming fascination for anything in a nine-year-old is by hysterical negative over-reaction. You start locking up the computer and wailing loudly about that awful porn stuff, and the kid is just going to have to try to figure out what the fuss is all about. I get better results with reactions like "Porn. Yeah, boring. Aren't you supposed to be out playing basketball or something?" It works with my guys. (I think it works like vaccinations: a little bit of bad stuff to keep worse stuff from happening later. All three of my guys have voluntarily and repeatedly sworn that they'll never touch booze because I once let them sip my Scotch and now they're all convinced that all booze tastes like fire-place ashes. It won't work forever, but it'll give me a few years.)
