Common Sense
"The Internet has revolutionized the way Americans communicate with one another and do business. It's just common sense to keep that revolution where it belongs--in the hands of ordinary individuals instead of a handful of big corporations. Americans' Internet freedom depends on it."

Then it equally makes common sense to keep the government out of the Internet.

It's rare that a day goes by that I don't see a news item like the one concerning Congresswoman DeGette's proposal to require ISPs to spy on and record the activities of their users. Or proposals to tax urban Net users to subsidise rural net users, or efforts by some alaphabet agency to spy on those they have labeled (potential) miscreants-du-jour.

Whatever threat corporations may pose to "Americans' Internet freedom," governments pose a far greater one. No corporation can be as dangerous to American freedoms as a Federal administration that has asserted the irrelevancy of law in pursuing whatever action it deems appropriate.
