Since when?
"...some corporations want to control what we access over the Internet. This would include giving better connections to their favored content and charging money for that privilege."

When did that happen? What companies have expressed an intention to "control what we access over the internet"? It's my understanding that the whole 'net neutrality' campaign is a pre-emptive strike, based on the theory of what COULD happen, not what IS happening.

So when did the "what ifs" and "coulds" and "mights" change into actual happenings?
