The discussions with Yahoo...
... may have concerned how to avoid the revenue reductions associated with changing over to adCenter. I do not know why buying placement of the ads from Microsoft should be considered less desireable than buying the same placement from Yahoo, but that was apparently expected.

That was probably more the basis of the Yahoo discussions than Microsoft's consideration buying Yahoo or, unfortunately, the possibility that Yahoo might become Microsoft's content company.
