Google unveils Web-based calendar app

largely because...: ...their products (email and calendaring, specifically) work so much better than similar products from companies that have done similar things, and that's largely due to better implementation of AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript And XML) technology. It's not just a buzzword, it works. Whether or not Google's web apps will continue to work as well as they do now when they are implemented on a larger scale is another question.
