The states are losing sales tax to downloads

Before, you paid a sales tax on the CD's and DVD's you bought.
And it used to be you paid taxes only if you lived in the
jurisdiction where the business was.

Now that people are not buying CD's, the states are losing 5% or
more sales tax on minimum $3.99 spend for a single and
$12.99 for a CD album, more for DVD's.

I understand why the legislatures want to tax downloads.

Since Democrats are tax and spend and the Republicans are
borrow from your unborn children and spend, I also understand
why more Democratic legislators are ready to do it than
Republican.

BTW, if you tink taxation is too high, just go visit a country
where it isn't high at all, like Eastern European countries where
there is a flat-tax on income and Value Added Tax on
purchases.
