- Same could be said about education

It could be said that education is just as important to our defense as UTD gear. The best technology in the world won't help if "johnny" can't read the instructions on how to use it. These are the kids that are going to be running our country & they can't figure change at McDonald's. Boy, do I feel secure. When my son was born in 1989 (yes folks, I'm old!), I was at a school on a temp job during the Summer & there were no books on any of the shelves that had been printed after I was born in 1962. I doubt things are much better. They are probably worse. My kids now have history books in the high school that still show the Berlin Wall as being intact. With history being made every day, they're not going to be perfect, but come on! We keep cutting programs & education & defense are the first to go followed by Medicare. Maybe we should start with government benefits for politicians. Bet we see some changes then. Not that it'll happen.
