I agree right down the line with the previous poster here. Personally, I think that it's almost like the internet IS being sold... To advertisers. Now I know that advertising has been and will be an integral part of business, BUT, don't ya think sometimes that, say, your big Corporations like the Automobile companies could drastically cut their advertising budgets, that must hover in the billions 'o bucks annually, and pass the savings on to the customers ??? I mean like does FORD need to tell the planet that they have a new truck out this year too !!! Lol... Who hasn't heard of 'em ???? I'm sure an outfit like Microsoft could knock quite a bit off their software, and MAYBE even offer free phone support at least ???? Now I know this may be an odd proposal, but isn't it feasible ???

"If I search Google for "1978 MGB rocker panel" I will be amazed to find www.1978_MGB_rocker_panel.com come up in my search results."

Eggs-Ack-Lee !!! What is UP with that kinda crap ????

"when conducting internet serches, i was always amazed at the quality and type of information that was easily avalible. man you didnt even have to try to get to the good stuff. those days it seemed like everybody was fascinated by what the internet had to offer, as such, people "websites" were willing to divulge infomation about things, knowledge, practices, experiances, in all walks of life and fields of study."

You're right !!!! The other day, I was looking for a tip or solution to a bizarre problem I was having with Win2K. I found one site that directly addressed the problem, and when I went there, the answer was "If you want to read the replies or solution to this, you have to be registered. Registration was $9.50. So instead, I did some calling around on the phone and found my answer anyway. Some years ago now, when I got my first modem it was a 300, that's right, a Three-Hundred baud modem for my 8-bit Atari 800, but I could find users groups all over the place for nothing (well, the cost of a LD phone call sometimes), and answer all my questions. But when PC's prices and capabilities improved with the far out GUI's and such, it was WONDERFUL.... But.... well, You said it in the above.... Lol... (I generally do have better results at times though using a program like Copernic when searching for specifics.)

Whats the difference between that and buying an advert on the keyword 'Geico'. Or are we not allowed to say 'Geico' now?

Well, it sure looks like it's moving that way more and more... Doesn't it ???

Should Microsoft sue Red-hat because they have a whitepaper on why Red-hat is better than Windows?

Lol..... SUE, Sue, sue............. If it's a way to wring some bucks outta some one or something, PARTICULARLY a competitor, MS is going to give it their best shot.

I'm done..... and thanks for listening.... errrrrr, reading !!!
