I have had Gmail for over a year now
I have used and convert many people to using gmail. No one that I know has had a problem with the service. The simplicity of User Interface makes it much better then Yahoo, 3 people converted so far. Hotmail is crap, talk about no customer service, limited help and bad servers. Any way gmail is beta but it is still the best service, for free, to get your email. If you want the best experience get Google desktop and hook it up to your gmail. You can even set it up to have multipul email acounts give you alerts.

Gmail is great, I am sorry some have had problems but if your life revolves around email, pay for it.
