Rep. Barton who gave oil companies a $20-80 Billion present
"'There is no cost,' declared Representative Joe L. Barton, a Texas Republican who was presiding over Congressional negotiations on the sprawling energy bill last July." NYTimes, 3/27/06. Then see NYTimes article on 3/29/06, reporting that taxpayers will lose "at least $20 billion over the next 25 years" and possibly as high as 80 billion because of this "no cost" law. After such a colossal ____up he has a lot of gall making any predictions. I would not trust him to predict whether the sun was going to rise tomorrow.
