Which Planet
are you referring to, cuz you must not be from Earth.
Federal government is clear choice for this role. You can't have conflict of interest in these areas. I think Google's entire existence is driven by the lobbying done by their biggest revenue sources. Since when hasn't that been the case? Look at the quality of their results anymore. It's driven more by their biggest ad purchasers than anything.
How can anyone side with a company willing to redirect websearches illegally, or at least majorally unethically, to further supress a third of the world's population? That is bs. They are nothing but search ******, to put it bluntly. It's interesting how one camp bellies up to the bar with Google and it's so transparent why, but at the same time sickening. Making a deal with the devil are we? Remember when Mr. Reagan thought that the enemy of our enemy should be our friend? And all the massive amount of weapons and explosives et cetera that went to the taliban and bin laden for years and years and those elaborate tunnels were built. It's that lack of foresight in this case too.
But in this case it IS the federal government that shoiuld be handling this data. It's the closest thing we have to a cental non biased entity for things not meant for commercial enterprise. It's laughable they would be able to do this ethically and technically, but the alternative is simply even more laughable.
Oh, wait, do you actually believe that Google is the "Do no Evil" company? ROTFLMFAO.
