Yeah right
you are the firt person to address the reason for this worry..
I have no understanding of genetics beyond your average joe so have no comment on the mechanics of it.
As a layman I do have genuine concerns that genetic information will be used by bodies with power i.e Government ,Corperations to deny individual rights.
A couple of examples being Insurance companies charging higher rates for somebody geneticly prone to heart attacks or companies not hiring a person because of a persons predisposition to a certain illness due to genetics.
It can be argued that this is stupid but of course so was the idea that India and China would grow so powerful in the world..
Anybody with a semblance of sense knows that if the information is available it will be used and/or abused by some entity in order to gain some advantage.
while this might not be possible at the moment that will not be the case in the future.
I do not fault the article as it is tech related nd it concerns Google which is a major player and draws headlines.

It is interesting to me that in this time of ever changing Technolagy that the ability of people to consider the bigger picture has dwindled at the same speed.
How about looking to the future and long term consequences of this technology gold rush
Live for the moment seems to be the way.
Credit card use has short term gain but is putting Western countries on the verge of a personnal bankrupsy eperdemic.
Note that the USA has just made it harder for individuals to go bankrupt at a time when people going bankrupt have doubled over the last five years.
I could write a book on this but what would be the point.
The article did the job it was intended for .
It begged opinions and as usual that is what it recieved from us all.
