So let me get this straight...
One company was planning to create an online database, but then they found out Google is planning to create something similar and suddenly Google is committing biopiracy?

How is piracy involved here? Competition maybe...but piracy? I'm not getting it. Is this other company saying that somehow they have the sole right to publish this information...because that's all I'm getting out of this story.

If that's all this story is saying then I say to the other company, "Google can do whatever the hell they want, and it seems you are just afraid Google is going to do a better job and people will be more inclined to use Googles database rather than your own." I would also recommend to ZDNN to stop posting ridiculous articles like this.
