ActiveX is a terrible technology.
ActiveX is non-standards compliant, and people who build websites and/or applications that depend on them limit the applications/pages reach.

I run into sites which depend on them all of the time...it is so unfortunate.

I am not anti-Microsoft, and while they did much for the desktop (although, arguably, not as much as Apple!), I believe the Microsoft approach to web technologies is limiting what is possible for the masses.

P.S. I use linux

P.P.S. ActiveX and Internet Exploder do run on my boxes...but only to cater to those who do not build to standards. Jerks! happy
