that is if patenting an idea is allowed to continue.

patents should be reserved for physical application of resources in a prescribed manner.

copyrights should extend that protection to works of art and literature.

i see no reason to let ideas be patented other that to force everyone to pay homage to the first person to present pen to paper.

now if real research were involved where physical or biological processes were discovered that gave rise to this process, i can understand a patent.

but just for sitting down and dreaming up how one might conduct an auction or sale online?

no.

go figure.
