Yep, its in the Bill of Rights
Amendment 4:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause

blah blah blah. We know all about this stuff. As of late, there has been quite a bit of yelling over the Bill Of Rights and exactly what it covers. Lefties think they have a constitutional right to privacy and Bush loonies support the Karl Rove idea that there is no such thing as a right to privacy. They are both wrong!

Look at amendment 4 again and think of the Google situation. Yes, Google. Not you, me, or someone elses search queries gathered by Google since we will accept Karl Rove's argument that people lost the right to privacy when they posted information to Google. Fine, give the fat turd his cookie. But when does the Justice Department, a part of the government, have the right to gather search queries (papers or effects) from Google? Did Google break a law? Did anyone break a law? Wait, this search and gather (fishing trip) is to re-purpose a law that was struck down as unconstitutional some years back? So, since no one broke a law, since the law doesn't exist, how does the government have "probable cause"?
