It's not funny in the way that saying it's a good thing Apple is not running homeland security. Nobody ever said they should be. That's why it's not funny. What makes it even less funny is the fact that maybe they should be. Their core OS is fine. It's the functionality they add in. When you start looking at that linux is 3 times as buggy.
Sure you have a right to say what you think and feel and so do I. I think you'd have more impact, however, than to cut somebody down for making positive comments about a product he/she loves? Why try to make them a laughing stock? Is that how you go about getting the word out? You are so head and shoulders above you can call others posts drivel?
I've programmed on several systems proprietary Polyforth derived system, MUMPS, Unix, worked with Novell and Windows. I'm in much disagreement with you on stability. I believe Windows is the most stable product right now. Even linux (in total counting apps) is out patching Windows/windows apps.
I hear you but don't take it out on someone in the meanwhile.
MS is huge and surely it's no secret the larger a company grows the more bueraucracy that forms...and a loss of focus just naturally happens at some point. It is a LOT tougher to overcome than you or anyone else realizes. What scoring systems to use, how to change management to fit the changing landscape, cultural changes....do we ditch our franchise or stay with it. You try to make that decision late 90s. Perhaps they are conservative now with their assets? It's a monster to run, organize and they are not nimble now. I wish the company had been broken down into seperate units quite honestly. Like AT&T, I'm sure they would have survived. I'm not sure I like the tactics of their competitors either. What about Google? Do you feel they are doing right? It's not played out yet, so what is being hyped as the new technology landscape, may not be reality or play out that way. What business decisions do you feel have been wrong and what would you have done? - Posted by: April May Posted on: 03/14/06 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
