Video will never have a "Napster" Problem
There is no way in heavens earth you can have movies, or even videos flying about like mp3's. Its cut and dryed, the faster the bandwidth and the bigger the harddrives the more and more mp3's are exchanging hands faster and faster along with the movies. You are not ever going to see a file the size of "The Lord of THe Rings" go through as many hands as a Beatles song. THat much is clear. But blame the jackasses who decided digitizing songs and movies on a disk was a bright move for them. It may have saved them a bundle, but it sure made P2P easy, so, I say they took the cost effective measure by going digital on disk, and made a fortune for a few years, $20 a CD from 1984-1996. Now they have the problem. It happens to industries sometimes when they rip off society for years and years, then it backfires. Let them bring out a new format that is much harder to copy, and cost them more likely, and if they have to charge more, and sales go down...so be it, but at least their copyright will be safe.
