LOL, I don't think ZDNet knows...
I don't think ZDNet knows what "open source" means. I did a quick look at the link provided, and unless I am mistaken, it is just the API that is open, not the source code. APIs by definition are "open", lol. MS also provides free documentation to its APIs but I am sure ZDNet won't accidentally call them "open source", now would they?

I think the "Open" in "OpenAPI" just means that the *API* is, well, "open". I guess adding "open" in front of anything is supposed to be an indication that something is not from MS, and we are supposed to get a warm and fuzzy feeling.

Ah, ZDNet is so clueless sometimes...
