I would rather here with slow internet then there with fast
The USA through DARPA made a great contribution to the Net. However allowing such unfair business practises has already caused the US society a great deal of damage. Access to the Net is in my opinion too important to have the unfair business practises of an incumbent monopolistic Telco to interfer...

What I consider a great deal of damage, as you claim the US is suffering from, is when there is rioting in the streets because of 40% unemployment in one racial category and when thousands of the elderly are left to die one August because all of the State Regulated Physicians were on "Holiday" and nobody thought to turn on the air conditioners, and by the way, the air conditioner was invented by Carrier in the USA.
Before you complain about the mote in our eye perhaps you should remove the plank in the EU's eye.
