- internet is dying..
-
Totally agree. Hell, even I'M getting tired of all the crap.
What originally made the internet fun and interesting was the worldwide communication and collaboration that was suddenly easily possible. People could share ideas, info, pics (yum!), and many other things. There was no spam, not many trojans, and no spyware. Corporate influence was bare, and there was no real monopolization of anything (excluding Microsoft's monopoly).
Contrast that to now: spyware, trojans, viruses, spam, scams, etc. are now all over the place and getting more and more out of control. Peoples' bank accounts are being lifted, IDs are being stolen, Windows boxes are being surreptitiously deluged with endless malware, of course slowing and devolving the user experience to where there isn't any. Now add in the corporate swoop down over the internet, where corporations are suing people and scamming them into compliance, shuffling out the little guys with lawsuits and cancellations of ISP accounts, and suddenly the internet is looking more like what TV devolved into: a controlled corporate medium used to brainwash and manipulate the masses. - Posted by: 5th Limb in the Kisser Posted on: 02/24/06 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
