You're wrong on forced installs.......
I hate to say it, on our last (large) order from DELL, Google Desktop 3 was automatically installed on ALL the machines. We had to uninstall it before we deployed to our user community.

We have since gone back to DELL and demanded it be removed from their standard image to us. I would suspect other OEM's are doing the same. Unless only the IT department is deploying equipment, (which is not true in smaller comoanies), you AUTOMATICALLY get GDT3 with ALL it's features turned on.
