Possible misunderstanding of email security

Something that seems to be getting overlooked here is that there is no such thing as a "secure" email at all - unless the messages are strongly encrypted. The whole email system is like sending a private message across the continent by telling someone who tells it to the next person, who tells it to the next person, until finally it arrives at it's destination. Then, because you've told your recipient to keep it secret, assuming that it's safe -- ignoring the fact that twelve people who acted as your go-betweens in passing the message along already know it. With email it's the same. Emails pass through potentially many machines and wind up "stuck" on their hard drives for some unknown length of time. You should NEVER send anything sensitive by email. Always assume that the whole world can read it. It doesn't matter how secure the server or your machine are. The cat's already out of the bag.
