It's not just the government
Suppose your competitor is feeling the heat from your new product. Now they can launch a claim against you accusing you of something (anti-trust, patent violation, industrial espionage, whatever) and get the court to issue a subpoena to Google asking for a list of every document that includes their company name (or whatever) in your file systems. You now have to hand over every single one of those files, no matter how secret or irrelevant. Some of them since deleted? Oh dear, now they can accuse you of hiding evidence of wrongdoing, because Google told them the file existed.

The bad guys don't have to win their case to give you a whole world of pain, and if they are going under (this is often an act of desparation) you might not have anyone to countersue.

Now watch your legal insurance premiums go through the ceiling.

Allowing company data onto servers you dont control is stepping into a legal minefield. If you feel the benefits outweigh the risks, fine. But I wont be deloying this on any of _my_ systems.
