Speaking of rational thought
n6ffu: "Those who have NOTHING to hide have NOTHING to rationally fear."

I see. Then you won't object to removing all of the curtains, blinds, and interior doors in your house so we can install these video cameras, right? I mean, you don't have anything to hide, do you?

Look, bunky, just because you're some kind of wierdo exhibitionist doesn't mean us normal folks out here don't like to keep our private lives - well - private.

Try, by way of illustration, the following thought experiment:
Assumption 1: The President has unlimited power to monitor phone calls, e-mails and other electronic transactions, purchases, rentals, and any other activity of any citizen at any time without a warrant if he thinks it's necessary to protect us from the Massive International Terrorist Conspiracy.
Assumption 2: the President is Hillary Clinton.

Still think Assumption 1 is a good idea?

See, that's the problem with legal precedents; they're not person-specific. If is established that The State has unlimited spy power, it doesn't matter who is in charge of The State.

The Constitution and Bill of Rights either protect all citizens or they don't protect any. That includes weirdo neocon exhibitionists.
