It seems for the last 100 years our friends in the record industry have been very lucky. They had a lot of control over hardware and content plus copyright. Today they don't seem to have control of much and I embrace the changes you speak of. I would be thrilled for the artists to make a fair share more than I care about copyright. This disruption will help artists not hurt them. Artists will seek out ways to avoid DRM the record labels etc. and make more money because of it...
New business models
Which is why I think new business models are important to
implement. We've only had recorded versions of songs available for
what, less than 100 years? Perhaps that's just a blip in human
history, and musicians will go back to earning money the way they
