Be Careful on That ...
I understand your points about protecting your kids, but scanning seach logs is just plain silly. And everybody already knows that the filtering doesn't work. If I search for "breast" I might be looking for pornography ... or I might be looking for "breast cancer". How do you know what my movites are? How does the government?

And it's not too far off from imagining a future in which a search for "breast cancer" might eventually result in your heath insurance rates going up (obviously, you must have it, you searched for it) ... or being denied employment (routine professional services background check shows searches for breast cancer, so you might be at risk) ... or being denied medical coverage (search for breast cancer might imply that you have a pre-existing condition).

Be careful of the slippery slope. As things become more automated, and as company databases are shared with business partners, it becomes more real. Don't be so quick to sacrifice all of your kids privacy rights because you are scared of them being exposed to pornography.
