- you don't see it huh?
- I am going to assume (and I am sorry if my assumption is wrong) that you do not have any children. I am going to interpet this whole thing at face value. No one has to agree with me. But in my interpretation they are doing this to see just how much children A.) have access to adult websites and material through web searches. B.) How many times the websites that are found through search methods, such as google, are accessed. C.) They are not looking (at this point) for anything that would give them personal information on anyone. They are not asking for the IP address of the computer that accessed that website. They are not asking the ISP for the name of the person that accessed that website through them. They want a random sampling. In a way this is about crime prevention so it can be related to crime in a sense. If they wanted any of that kind of information I could seriously see getting angry about it. The same people who are so angry that the government would 'dare' to try and get this information are the same people who raise their voices when something bad happens and they say the goverment did nothing to stop it or try to get information to prevent it. That is all that I see this as at this point is a gathering of NON PERSONAL information to get a better idea of what children have access to and to find a way to make it harder for children to do it. I am the kind of parent that monitors her childrens internet habits as closely as I can but even I know that children will try to find a way around things. Children are like that and I do not know of any child that hasn't tried to pull the wool over their parents eyes. Of course laws can be better written. Or made easier to understand. But the only ay that I can see that happening is if you go out there and try to change these laws yourself. It takes time and patience to get these things done. And yes I do know what I am talking about. I am currently trying to go through that process myself and it is definately a long road. Nothing is perfect. You can't expect perfection.
