It's not the law we're talking about. It's the
random fishing expedition that the current administration is trying to pull.
If the government asks a company for some random information, and the company gives them; that's the companies perogative. However, if the company doesn't want to give the government information, that is not DIRECTLY related to a crime, financial regulations, or such, there is no compelling reason to give it to them. It's like asking the phone company for a random list of 1 million numbers called. Suppose they ask the cable company for the top 10 adult movies downloaded... then they ask for the area where they were downloaded the most... WHERE DOES IT STOP?

I don't see how the current administration thinks it has any grounds to demand random data from any company.
