You're both way off base...
Do you forget so easily who really had the vested interests in Iraq? Or do you choose to ignore it?

1) Oil for food scandal - corruption and kickbacks - is it any wonder that U.N. officials and certain of our allies wanted us to stay out of Iraq? The war disrupted their little game.
2) France & Russia, two of the countries on the "Security Council" who opposed the War in Iraq, were found to have been selling military equipment to Iraq, right up to the start of the war. The equipment included:

* Electronic equipment used to jam Global Positioning System (GPS) signals used to guide many U.S. precision weapons
* Kornet anti-tank missiles
* night vision gear

Who's the real bad guy here? Some of you need to take off your political blinders and see clearly what's really going on.

More recent update: as tensions mount regarding Iranian nuclear capability, France last week made a statement that it reserved the right to use nuclear weapons. This is France! Not some poverty-stricken, dictator-run 3rd world country!!! Can you not see how wrong the leftist politics have gone in Europe and in the U.S. democratic party???

Bush is not without mistakes. And there were intelligence failures regarding WMDs in Iraq. But we certainly didn't go there for the oil. We went there to fight terrorists and thugs, to prevent them from attacking us, and in Saddam's case, also brutalizing and suppressing his own people. The facts above should make it evident who has the real vested interests.
