Western-ethnocentric China-Ignorant Know-it-alls should butt-out
In support of Chinese restriction on the Internet search such as Google

(I'm an American citizen born in China, so I'm more aware of why such
restriction should exist, based on historical Chinese perspective; those
who are totally unaware of Chinese culture and background should just shut
their mouth).

Recently, Google and other search services open Chinese versions, with
restrictions commensurate with the requirements of the Chinese government.

Many of the restrictions are perfectly sensible based on Chinese culture and
history, akin to proposed restriction on USA on terrorist organizations propaganda,
instruction for weapons and methods of mass destruction, etc.

(1) Falong Gong --These restrictions are perfectly sensible. The Chinese view
Falong Gang as another manifestation of the Boxers and the Yellow Turban, akin
to terrorist organizations. Almost all Americans are unaware of the Yellow Turbans
of 1850's (a semi-religious organization headed dictatorially and curruptly by one
who proclaim himself the brother of Jesus Christ) which took over the Souther half
of China and resulted in miliions (or perhaps 10s of millions) of deaths. So,
restricting access to Falong Gong propaganda is like restricting access to Mafia
propaganda.

(2) Tibetian issue --Americans being brainwashed by the Secularist view of Tibet
(movies, etc.) have a naive view of Tibetian buddhist dictatorship as some
"Lost Horizon" utopia. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Tibetian
buddhist dictorship, if they are allow to get into power, will make the Spanish
inquisation appears like a Chili bake-out. It is one of the most repressive
doctrine ever existed. The Dalai Lama, if in power, would be in a position to
repeat the activities of Hitler or 1984 !!!

(3) The Tian-an-men issue --Tian-an-men was a Greek tragedy. During the early
months of the incident, moderates in the government were in control and were
willing to wait out the students. It was one of the most generous and lenient
policy by a supposedly-dictatorial government. The moderates were willing,
once the incident is over, to continue on the democratizing trend that had
preceeded this incident.

Unfortunately, the students got a "second-wind", via the Goddess of democracy and
the western press egging them on. The governement were faced with 2 bleak choices.
(a) Let it continue, and face the possibility of chaos (such as what happened to
East Germany, when the politburo voted 3-2 not to send troops against the Lepzig
freedom marchers--and thus lead to the downfall of East German communism)
(b) crack-down and keep the "peace", however damaging the short-term prospect.

As we all know, Deng xiao-ping (who, rightfully, have an avid fear of chaos-as
examplified by the Cultural revolution) come in with the hardliners and purged the
moderates. The crackdown resulted in a vast setback to any short-term democratizIng
trend in the governemnt. Nevertheless, China avoided the Chaos that swept Russia
and the former republics of the USSR. It seems to me that (a) would NOT have lead
to a better China. The Western secularist China-ignorant press strikes again.

Thus, it is perfectly reasonable to me that the information provided by the culprit
western press and its Secularist allies in the Western Academis circles should not be
imposed on the Chinese people.

In conclusion --I believe that most of the restrictions imposed by the Chinese
government on search engines operating in China is reasonable--and those secularist
know-it-all Western-ethnocentric China-ignorant critics should butt-out.
