"highly compatible" is not equivalent to "problem free"
"f you cant get a simple highly compatable OS like Windows to work...."

Oh, I can get it to work fine. That isn't the problem.

"highly compatible" is not equivalent to "problem free" - Windows is far from a bug-free OS. XP is much better than its predecessors, yes, but still has occasional glitches.
