Of course I think that in an ideal world, the man's blog should stand. That being said, MS is only being realistic here and I don't believe that through these actions, they have done something as evil as consorting with Al Queda.

This self censorship practiced by MSN to allow them to continue to do business in China is exactly the same as that "embedded" journalists employ when covering wars travelling with troops. The question we should be asking in each case are whos interests such behaviour is serving?

As you bring up, this is an excellent question. There is always self censoring in all news organizations so to pretend that this is somehow unique to MS is disingenious at best. No matter what the source of the news, a prudent consumer will always be aware of the biases of the source.

As my subject says though, thanks for the rational response. Your post shines even brighter when held up beside the others responding in this thread. happy
