If in the US
As the MicroSoft servers are, then you follow CHINESE law? I don't get it.

This is not the same situation as it was with the EU. The issues in that case surrounded Microsoft's doing business IN THE EU, and their practices while engaging in this business. Obviously, EU law applies to business conducted on its soil.

In the case of the Chinese blogger, he is on Chinese soil, and is subject to Chinese law. If what he posted violated Chinese law, he may be prosecuted for that.

But how do you conclude that MicroSoft was legally obligated to act as censor on the Chinese government's behalf? Even Microsoft is not making that claim, they are simply blathering ambiguities about the "realities" of being an international corporation.
