So . . .
It's not a question of timing for FireFox but that the various software vendors and middlemen in the music, movie, etc. business have drawn a line in the sand regarding P2P. Even Microsoft has been colluding with the vulture vestiges of days gone past.

I don't use IE and I definitely find that the IE7 (which already needs a patch) is the actual late dinner guest not the others such as FireFox or Opera, etc.

I don't TRUST Microsoft anymore (not since 3.11 Windows and that was a concession) let alone any version of IE which is so tightly integrated to the OS that any P2P no doubt would work nicely but who knows how Microsoft (or it's third party vendors) have co-opted it.

No Thank You. I'm happy with the NIX flavors and very happy with FireFox et al. I like the fact that I can pick and choose which plug ins to use and that FireFox doesn't require a reboot every time a little patch or fix or updated extension/plug in is downloaded. I like my tabbed browsing tremendously and I like FireFox's total stability. I truly appreciate how Mozilla and the like keep evolving their offerings and not stopping development just because it doesn't fit the business model. Unlike Microsft's products - IE has not been updated for quite a number of years now, constantly patching and fixing and turning off ActiveX et al. IE 7 is only now coming out as Microsoft's response to competitive pressures - it wasn't slated to come out until Longhorn and even then it was only going to be a total upgrade.

There is no doubt that Microsoft is no longer King of the Hill no matter how hard they try to emulate the tremendous productivity, cost savings and fun that we the people have been given by others such as Mozilla, ODF, etc.
