Why, indeed?
Even if everything you and your buddies are sharing is legal & safe, why the heck would you want the software to share it tied to your browser?

I could see it as an IM client extension maybe. And I could see it communicating with your browser. But as a browser extension? It's like permanently mounting an ipod in the trunk of your car. Sure it's convenient if your in your car, but you don't spend all your time in your car, do ya?
