Most players are terrible
I have yet to find a player that correctly manages the "database" of media clips on my computer. Back up is difficult. File sharing on my home network is difficult. I could list ten other issues that for some reason no one wants to address. I think its because no one is really paying attention to the design of these products as products. Instead they're following past practices, and focusing on how they can get in the loop for money spent on downloadable content. Some players blow my mind with the inefficiency they embrace so that they can throw "offers" in my face and this is on purchased software. As far as I'm concerned the media player for the not-so-distant future has yet to be invented.
