In addition to my previous post, you may also want to look up what it means to be a "large cap" stock. MSFT falls into this category.

On the other hand, if you just invested in MSFT for fun, please disregard this advice and the previous post. I had assumed you were a serious investor and not an amateur. If I am mistaken, of course, do as you please. But don't hand out stock advice if you don't know what you're talking about lest you raise some of that FUD and hype which you do so dearly despise

GOOG is a fantastic stock and a very solid short term bet. MSFT is also very solid but investors are mostly in it for the long term (>2 years). If you are looking for short term gains, GOOG is probably the better pick. Long term tends to favor MSFT. Of course, if you truly believe either stock will go down, you can always short the stock Let me know how that goes for you (but do make sure you look up "shorting" before you do it) =P
