Client side filter does nothing
The SPAM is already on your PC at that point. Hiding it from view using a client filter does nothing. The resources are still wasted. Sure client side filtering looks a solution if you get half a dozen SPAM messages a day but how useful is it when you get Millions of spam messages a day? That's what the Server you're getting you email from is recieving. Are you willing to pay an extra $40 a month so your ISP can handle the spam that you filter at the client?

Client filter is useless! All it does is hide the problem, like sweeping dirt under the carpet.
