People are kicked out for logistic reasons.
Chances are if you are educated, you are smarter. Why cipher thru all the applicants of everyone when you can decide on a narrow set. There are smart 8th grade educated people, but they are rarer in todays world. It is too easy to pass high school. Heck even EMH kids pass high school. Another reason for credentials is commanding respect from subordinates. Then you have to ask yourself what is wrong with this smart person for not getting credentials. Sounds like a disipline problem to me. There are other smarts in this world you are overlooking. Employers usually look at them too.
